THE PREFERRED HOTEL GROUP ENHANCES CONNECTIVITY LEVELS FOR MEMBER HOTELS
24th May 2005 -- The Preferred Hotel Group continues to enhance its connectivity levels for member hotels on the Global Distribution System (GDS) with the implementation of Worldspan's next generation seamless connection 'Integrated Hotel Source'. The Preferred Hotel Group is a multi-brand organization that delivers high-performance sales, marketing and technology solutions to more than 300 luxury independent hotels in over 50 countries through its brands - Preferred HotelsŪ & Resorts, Summit Hotels & Resorts, Boutique and Sterling Hotels.
The latest enhancement, and third GDS system implementation for the group, offers the very highest level of connectivity and is beneficial to travel agents, consumers and individual hotels. Deena Kaufman, The Preferred Hotels Group Senior Vice President of revenue and distribution management said "The enhanced connectivity makes the booking process easier and quicker for travel agents as it provides up to the second rates and availability as well as increased confidence in the accuracy of the information provided as it now comes directly from our central reservation system."
"It enhances the way we do business with travel agents and the feedback to date has been very positive."
"Our hotels also benefit from the enhanced connectivity. By providing travel agents with an improved booking process it can, in turn, generate more business for our hotels. It provides them with a better screen presence as an individual hotel is listed to the user on the GDS shopping screen with a special indicator", said George Horaitis, Director of Global Distribution Systems for the Preferred Hotel Group.
The Preferred Hotel Group already has next generation seamless connectivity with GDS providers Sabre and Galileo and is looking to migrate to next generation seamless connectivity with Amadeus by second quarter of 2005.
